PSV Eindhoven is another of the Dutch big 3*. They have won the second most Dutch titles and are very successful.
We went there today and it was a very nice atmosphere it was not busy but still a very nice stadium. The stadium has 35,000 seats, and there are 30,000 season ticket holders, so it’s pretty hard to get a seat at a match (unless the opponents are a low-placed team).
The tour guide explained about the first matches played here, by workers at the Philips factory – their team became PSV – and there’s a village of houses beside the stadium which used to belong to the workers. It’s a fairly central location for a stadium, but that has limited the potential for increasing the size of the grounds.
Famous PSV ex-players include Ruud Gullit, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Romário & Ronaldo.
