Monday 2nd January comments: Its time to start planning. We’ve welcomed in the new year and now the countdown is on as spring approaches (honest) bringing lighter nights, warmer weather and longer days. It also means one thing; the Isle of May will open its doors.
This year the island opens on 1st April and boats will sail daily (weather dependent) throughout the seabird breeding season until 1st October. The Isle of May is a hidden gem in the Firth of Forth (not far from Edinburgh) boasting the largest Puffin population on the east coast of the UK. Its also home to thousands of other seabirds, Grey Seals and spectacule views.
As well as this, visitors get three hours on the island (with no entrance fee charge) and with other attractions including gaining access to the 200 year-old Stevenson lighthouse, it is well worth a visit. We’ll bring you full details of sailing times in…
